This complete set of scraper tools, crafted from 0.032" (0.81mm) thick blue spring steel, includes two rectangular scrapers (5"x2.5"x0.0315" and 5"x2.5"x0.0236"), a curved scraper (6"x2"x0.0315"), and a gooseneck scraper (3.15"x4.65"x0.0315"). Complementing the set is a scraper burnisher with a 4 3/4-inch wooden handle and an overall length of 11 inches.

The wooden handle of the burnisher is designed to fit comfortably in the palm, making it easy to grip and use. The steel ferrule inlay firmly combines the wooden handle and the steel burnishing bar, increasing the product's lifespan. The super-hard, high-speed steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 60-65, helps you create the perfect burr on the card scraper.

Honing the card scraper is an essential step in its use. By pushing the burnishing tool firmly onto the scraper and along its edges, the corners are deformed, forming a small, barely visible hook-shaped burr. This process is crucial, as a new scraper does not come with a usable edge out of the box.

Successful burnishing requires that the burnishing tool be harder than the scraper. Unless the scraper is brand new, the first step is to file off any remains of the old, worn burr to create a square edge.
