24 Flexible Stainless Steel Machinist Ruler with 4R Graduations

The Shinwa company, a leading manufacturer of measuring tools in Japan, produces these machinist rulers. Shinwa is quickly becoming the global benchmark in the industry. All of their rulers are made in accordance with the strict Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS B7516 Grade 1) for material consistency, hardness, length, thickness, end squareness, finish, flatness and straightness.

These rulers feature 4R markings with 1/32nd and 1/64th graduations on one side, and 1/16th and 1/8th marks on the reverse. The super-fine graduation marks have been precisely photo-etched and then black-filled for easy readability. These markings are designed to withstand years of use without wearing off.

Crafted from SUS420J2 stainless steel hardened to HRC-40, these rulers are then coated with a smooth, hard, and non-glare chrome. This hard chrome finish not only makes the rule resistant to scratches and corrosion but also significantly reduces glare, greatly enhancing readability in bright-light conditions.

The edges of these rulers are ground straight and then smoothed, ensuring a seamless experience when scribing along the edge with a pencil or marking knife. The ends are ground square to within 0.001", demonstrating the high level of precision in their manufacturing.

The available size is 24 inches, with a width of 0.500 inches and a thickness of 0.020 inches. Each ruler is provided with a protective vinyl sleeve to safeguard it when not in use.
